Our Massage Therapists
Betsy Gonzalez, Massage Therapist
I took my first steps in the world of massage therapy like many others; by taking an introductory course and finding it fun to become a massage therapist. Then, once I signed up for the 400 hour course I found a body of teachers and assistants who were really passionate about their jobs. It was very demanding but also very stimulating. I consider myself lucky to have been able to rub shoulders with professors who shared their experiences and their advice with the students. These teachers went well beyond the simple fact of giving an anatomy class, they gave their know-how, this was very motivating. But to try to answer the question: what motivates me? The feeling of satisfaction that we find with the practice of our profession is unique to each one of us. Massage, as an interpersonal experience, can help a person feel better in their body and mind. Whether it is relieving a tension that has been in place for months or even years, or helping a person to temporarily unwind from a world full of stress with a relaxing massage, or to accompany a person in a treatment aimed at healing a pathological condition; the words “Ah! It felt good, thank you! "... are very gratifying. This is my motivation ...

Sarah Pryde, Massage Therapist
My name is Sarah and I’m a registered massage therapist with the FQM since 2021 with a BSc. in Exercise Science. I’ve been an athlete for most of my life and I had to learn the importance of rest, recovery, and maintenance the hard way after suffering a traumatic knee injury requiring a full reconstruction. Being forced to slow down and rehabilitate my knee helped me realize the value of massage and injury prevention. When I look back, that’s where it all began. I graduated university in peak pandemic months and was struggling to find my purpose with what seemed like a perpetual loop of opening and closing of gyms where I worked. During this time of isolation, I realized more than ever how important it is to have human connections, and how powerful our touch can really be. I knew I loved helping people through exercise and training, but something was missing. I took an intro to Swedish massage course and loved how it made my muscles feel to receive, but also how connected I felt with not only the clients, but myself as well. It quickly turned into a passion, and I am now dedicated to learning more every day.
I’m currently certified in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage and Cupping and will soon be certified in Kinesitherapy. My treatments are tailored specifically to your needs and often use a combination of techniques to provide you a truly customized massage. My hope is that you’ll leave my room feeling better than when you came in, and with the tools you need to stay that way. Whether you have chronic tension from working at a desk, are recovering from an injury, or are an athlete training for a competition, my ultimate goal is to help you feel, move and live better. Whatever that means for you.
